This guidance aims to support those working in health protection teams (HPTs) across Scotland, with a clear and concise overview of the public health measures required to prevent and manage the spread of COVID-19, from a health protection perspective, and general recommendations for the management of confirmed or possible cases in various settings.
This document should be read together with:
National Infection Prevention and Control Manual (NIPCM) (external website), which provides information and evidence on Standard Infection Control Precautions and Transmission Based precautions which should be applied to prevent spread of COVID-19
- a series of specific COVID-19 infection prevention and control (IPC) addenda for Scotland is being developed for the NIPCM site, such as the:
